VTech CareLine : Helping Seniors Live Connected Lives At Home

October 14, 2013

When I was first contacted about reviewing the VTech CareLine® system, I was a less than impressed because I'm 34! I had no idea how I would use this system or what I would do with it but then I thought of my Grandparents.

My Grandpa and Grandma are 94 years old and live on their own at home. They are able to because they live near family and still get around pretty well but with failing eyesight and medical problems we still get nervous that something will happen. The CareLine® was perfect for them and I was excited to get them set up and see how it worked.

The VTech CareLine® is perfect for everyday conversations, once we set up the system for my Grandma, she was able to easily call family without having someone help her dial the phone. This will help her stay connected with everyone!

VTech CareLine Phone System Review

October 4, 2013

When I first heard of the new VTech Careline system, I immediately thought of my mother and my mother-in-law. Both of which are elderly and not in the best of health. I realize I spend more time worrying about them than I do anything else. With the VTech Careline system in place, I can rest assured that if one of them need help, it's just a push of the button away. The VTech Caerline system comes with a pendant they can wear, and in the event they fall, get sick or need emergency services, they can simply push a bottom and get immediate help. On moms pendant, I programed 911 for the first call and my sister for the second call. This also allows me more freedom. I can now leave the house and not worry as much that mom will fall, or have a stroke.

Another great feature is that I can program her phone to remind her to take her medication, which is something she forgets on a regular basis. Plus the easy to read large numbers make it easier for mom to make calls.

The VTech Careline system is great for elderly or disable individuals. Personally, I believe there should be one in every home. No one is excpet form an emergency. A child could easily get help for a family member or themselves if needed. Simply leaving the pendant in one place and teaching your child which number to push in case of an emergency would benefit everyone. I'm recommending the VTech Careline this holiday season. Put it under your tree this year and give the sense of security to someone you love.

VTech CareLine Phone System Review

July 5, 2013

VTech CareLine has a digital answering machine that answers calls when you can't. There is also an "audio assist" button that temporarily increases the volume when you are on a call. This helps you hear the person on the other end of the phone line.

The phone system comes with the base phone/digital answering machine, the cordless phone and pendant. You can add additional cordless phones and pendants. What a great idea for multiple people in the same household!

If you need a phone for someone you care for who doesn't want to give up their independence, the VTech CareLine is a perfect solution. You can be a push of a button away. Even though this phone is targeted toward seniors, I think it is great for younger kids too. Like all VTech phones I have ever had, the quality is superb too!

Get Wired...No Excuses

February 28, 2013

It was 1954, and the neighborhood was abuzz. We were the first on our block to get a TV. Friends and relatives squeezed together on our plastic slip-covered couch. My mom ceremoniously placed a bowl of fruit on top of the humongous TV cabinet. We held our breath. My father turned the knob, and there she was, Miss Francis. We all watched the show Ding Dong School together.

Some scientists predict a lifespan of 150 years will be attainable by mid-century. But, while we all want "long age," we do not want the deterioration of "old-age." The new measure of successful aging is not length of years, but how many "good" years we will live. We want to be more than just disease-free; we want what futurist Edith Weiner calls "Swellness," a sense of well-being, healthfulness and mastery over our environment.
