2.4 GHz Cordless Phones

Following the success of 900 MHz frequency phones, 2.4 GHz (2.4 Gigahertz) transmit at even a higher frequency. If you already own one or more 900 MHz telephones, consider a 2.4 GHz model when you are looking to add an additional cordless telephone. Many 2.4 GHz phones can transmit greater amounts of data than lower frequency units. We call this greater bandwidth. One advantage of greater bandwidth is the ability to link multiple handsets to a single base unit. Using this frequency may interfere with wireless networks. Look for the 802.11 Friendly stamp or consider the purchase of a 5.8 GHz model.
