The VTech LS6475-3 Phone System Brings Technologically Advanced Communications to Your Home

June 09, 2011

The VTech LS6475-3 phone system brings technologically advanced communications to your home.

This is the newest system from VTech for 2011. After a full charge, it was plugged in to the phone jack and the testing/setup began.

First of all, kudos to the writer of the user manual, as it is clear, concise and extremely easy to follow and read. The directions were spot on

Set up (after charging) which included setting up the greeting, remote code, time/date, etc took less than 10 minutes. Once that was done, calls were placed as usual.

While there are too many features to list, the major ones include;

  • Cordless headset for true hands free calls
  • 2 handsets
  • Voice announcement of caller ID, including names
  • Long range on hand/head set
  • Equalizer for best sound quality
  • Push to Talk feature from handset to handset

In making calls, we tested both handset call and head set calls. From the perspective of a caller, there was full clarity with both devices. With the DECT 6 technology, it was so clear and crisp that it was like being face to face. When the person on the other side was asked about the sound quality and transmission clarity, the response was the same. They truly thought I was on a corded phone.

The voice announcement was a welcomed feature. It is great to hear “Call from…………” without having to look at a handset or wait for the message to be recorded.

The range was remarkable. On the cordless headset, there was no distortion upto 50 feet away or even through 1900 era horse hair plaster or even from the base to the headset when used in detached garage.

The equalizer is an outstand feature. During a call, you can press the “equalizer” button on the handset to get optimal sound quality for both you and the other person

The last really “cool” feature is a push to talk feature to connect to other handsets on your system.

Of course, it has the features you would expect, including;

  • Pulse and Tone dial
  • Address book
  • DND features
  • Dial from CID

For under $100, you get way more than you pay for. There are features that you see on systems that are more than $50 more. Learn more at VTech’s websiteor get a great deal at Amazon.com.
