VTech Video Doorbell Review

December 06, 2013

Installation and use is pretty simple, the only part that can be tricky is the doorbell. You have a couple of options. You can connect it to your existing doorbell and you have a choice between having it battery powered or running it off of a power cord.

Now for the fun stuff! The VTech Audio/Video Doorbell works like this. Your guest simply rings the doorbell button, and your phones inside the house start ringing or making your set doorbell sound. At that point, you can see who is at your door through the video screen on the phone. You can even speak to the person at the front door.

Affordable and Easy Doorbell Video from VTech

December 01, 2013

This would be the perfect solution to a number of common situations. An elderly person living alone, a teenager home alone, or a family that likes to shop online and gets frequent deliveries, not that I would know anything about that.

The VTech 7121-2 does more than just provide live video to the handset. You also have the option of turning on the intercom so you can talk with the visitor at your door (tell the UPS driver it’s ok to leave the package), and it automatically takes a still photo of everyone who rings your doorbell, even when you’re not home allowing you to see who’s been coming around during the day. Another surprise feature, especially at such an affordable price, is automatic night vision so you can see after dark.

VTech Audio Video Doorbell System IS7121-2 review

VTech IS7121-2 Audio/Video Doorbell Review

October 27, 2013

Home security has become a big issue now that there are mobile devices, but the majority of these videocamera products work inside the home. That might be okay if all you care about is who is already inside, but what about someone on the porch or knocking on the front door — what do you do then? Not much if you've a mobile device, but plenty if you've VTech's IS7121-2 Audio/Video Doorbell. That's because it doesn't just connect you to whoever is out there regardless of where you are inside, but it also provides two forms of visual confirmation so you don't have to rely on someone saying "UPS" or "Mailman." And it gives you a full functioning landline-based phone center/answering machine too.

The Audio/Video Doorbell consists of three parts: a videocamera module that goes on the outside, a base unit and two cordless phones (plus a charging cradle) which charge when not being used. Breaking it down even further, the videocamera module has a push-button that rings to the phones, each of which has a 1.8-inch LCD color video panel. If set to default, up will pop a still picture of whoever has pushed the button — day or night since the camera's night vision enabled — while at the same time, a voice will announce the caller by name (providing that a subscription to Caller I.D. is in effect). There's also the option to stream video once the connection is made — limited in time but long enough to see who's who. Memory holds up to the last 100 pictures so if someone shows up and then leaves when you're not in, you know who that is. But if the button isn't pressed, nothing happens — there is no motion-detection features.

VTech Audio/Video Doorbell Answering System (IS7121-2)

October 23, 2013

The folks at VTech, best known for their affordable home phone systems, have recently introduced the Audio/Video Doorbell Answering System IS7121-2, a hybrid cordless phone system that includes two telephone handsets and a doorbell unit with a built-in camera and microphone. Billed as caller ID for your front porch, the IS71721-2 provides a live video feed from your front door and takes a snapshot of whomever has come a-calling, but the use of a low-end camera limits what you'll see when the bell rings and the camera angle is too narrow. On the plus side, it's a snap to install and functions flawlessly as a cordless phone system.

The IS7121-2 contains two handsets, a base receiver, a charger for the second handset, a doorbell with a built-in video camera and microphone, alkaline batteries, an AC transformer for the camera, rechargeable batteries for the handsets, and mounting hardware. The doorbell measures 4.7 by 1.9 by 1.5 inches (HWD) and is black with a silver doorbell button in the center of the faceplate. Above the button are a camera, two night vision infrared LEDs, and an LED indicator that lights up when the doorbell has been rung. To the right of the doorbell button is a small embedded microphone and below the button are a speaker and a silver VTech logo.

Transform Your Home into a Smart Home

October 05, 2013

A doorbell that makes everyone that comes to your house feel really, really uncomfortable. Halloween is going to be a hoot. With the VTech IS7100 series, you get two main pieces – a cordless home phone and a video doorbell. The doorbell has a camera and a microphone, so you can tell whether or not to pretend no one's home just by looking at your phone. The cordless phone features a color display that can stream video from the doorbell or show stills. You can even get missed calls from your front door – the doorbell will snap a picture whenever someone rings the doorbell, so if you're out, you can check to see if anyone came by when you get back.

VTech's Doorbell Phones

September 01, 2013

My husband is a bit of a practical joker. When it came time to test it out, I heard the doorbell loud and clear. VTech's Doorbell phone takes a snapshot whenever the bell is rung. When I answered it, I saw a picture of my husband holding a butcher knife. I said, "Who is it?" and he said, "Could you help me, my car broke down and my daughter is cold and needs to get warm." And that's when it hit me; this is something that could save my life. You can see who's there and even though they talk a good talk, I can see if I feel comfortable opening up my door or not. One of its features is the ability to take photographs or stream video, or audio for that matter. I can see how this can make my home a safer place. It also has night vision in case your front light goes out (or is put out by a would be attacker). Oh and every time the doorbell rings, it takes a photo of them. When you get home, you can look through the photos to see who all came by when you were gone. That's a great feature in itself!

The phones can also be used like a Walkie-Talkie so if you want to stay connected with someone else, you can. They are wireless hand-held phones so you can take them anywhere in your home and still talk, answer the phone, and see who's at the door.

Entryway Blues? 5 Ways to Dress Up Your Front Door

August 05, 2013

The VTech Doorbell Phone has been really nice to have. I mean, I can know who is at my door, like if there is someone wanting to sell me something, I can see. I have found it to be very nice during those nap times, when Wyatt is sleeping. Instead of waking him up, I can get a photo of who is outside sent right to the handset. Not only does it make it easier for me when packages or salesmen show up, but it eases my husbands mind when I am home with the kids during the day and he is not home. It helps keep me and the kids safer, by me knowing who is out there before I go to answer the door. I also know, that this will make one of those must have products to get an elderly loved one or for someone who has a hard time getting up and down. I know that when I was pregnant with Wyatt, this would have really come in handy. Another plus is that I can add multiple handsets to this, so that I can put one in every room! I have found the VTech Doorbell Phone to be great because of the fact that it makes answering the door safer for me and my family since we can see exactly who is at my door! So if you want to have a sense of security for your family when it comes to who is at the door, as well as being able to avoid being a victim of the dreaded ding dong ditch prank, then get the VTech Doorbell Phone today!

Technological advances that change the world (Translation below)

July 26, 2013

The advice of our parents "Never open the door to a stranger", has become the premise of creating the company VTech IS7121-2, commercial name given to c system that lets you see and speak from any instead of your home with the person who rings the bell of the outer door.

The color video camera is activated when a visitor rings the doorbell and automatically takes a photo and sends it to the backlit screen (1.8 inches), a phone headset. From there, you can hold a conversation and receive live video.

VTech cordless phone review

July 17, 2013

For any homeowner, the VTech 2 Handset Answering System with Audio/Video Doorbell is the ultimate tool in home security. Unlike the average cordless phone on the market, this one combines a cordless telephone with a digital camera doorbell and video monitor. It's simple to install and connect and, especially if you have children or elderly at home, will create a much more secure feeling whether you're home or not.

It's a Phone, It's a Doorbell, It's The VTech Video Doorbell System

July 12, 2013

The VTech Video Doorbell System is a doorbell and a cordless phone! Its the first of its kind to combine a cordless answering system and video doorbell with a digital camera for convenience and security. The phones work like normal cordless phones but then when someone rings the doorbell it not only pops up a picture of whose at the door but it also will ring on the phone! To me having my phone ring like a doorbell is awesome because I am in the basement or backyard a lot with my kids and I will absolutely not hear the doorbell otherwise. The picture is a bonus because yes I go to the door most of the time when the doorbell rings but there is nothing worse than having my hands full to drop everything just to see that it was the mailman or UPS leaving a package on my porch. There is also the whole security thing where I don't want to go the door if I don't know the person standing there.

VTech Video Camera Doorbell Phone

July 10, 2013

We all love surprise visitors, but we'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to unplanned house guests. The folks at VTech provide the perfect solution with their IS7100 video camera doorbell phone.

When guests ring the doorbell, your wireless camera will snap a quick picture, and send it right to your handset's 1.8" LCD screen giving you the option to stream video, audio or both with a simple press of a button. You can even find out who stopped by your front door while you were out thanks to the 100 photo storage capabilities. VTech also made sure to keep you protected in the evening, building night vision right into their camera. Maybe you don't use landlines? No problem. The company also offers the option to scoop up just the video camera doorbell.

The Case Of The Wireless Doorbell

July 09, 2013

Being frugal means getting the most out of every purchase and the VTech® Video Doorbell Two Handset Answering System is also a phone so when I am not answering the door and taking photos of those at my door, I am using the phone to make calls! The appliance has a double-duty sense to it and it makes it perfectly functional in my home! The phone has mute, flash(for call waiting) a paging system, a redial function and a handset speaker phone. The unit offers a 50 number directory for storage, speed dial and of course if you have Caller ID a log. The answering system is digital and does not sound warbly. The image that you see is a wide angled image and it is clear even when it is dark outside because there is automatic night vision. The screen is 1.8" large and it is full color LCD. The set comes with 2 handsets, a wireless doorbell and HD Audio. I love that the when the phone rings it tells you who is calling, without even having to look, it is verbal Caller ID! This is cutting edge technology and it is the first system that actually offers a phone and a digital camera. A little bonus feature that I am anticipate benefiting from is the fact that while we are gone, we can still see who stopped by through a simple review of stored photos, up to 100. I bet we get to see the little vixen pasting stuff to our front door, taping the glass with cellophane tape that does not come off of glass easily, or marking the glass up with hand prints just because she feels like it. The fact that I can now take photos of each person on the front patio is priceless and I am able to screen visitors through an intercom system rather than actually answering the door is an added perk. Installation was a breeze, and we performed the install for the unit based on an existing doorbell. One appliance to do multiple tasks eliminates the build up of junk on our counters. Less is better!

VTech IS7100 lets you know who's calling, and who's at the door

July 09, 2013

VTech IS7100 does everything that you'd expect from a cordless phone. But it's got one special little feature that sets it apart from the pack. When the phone rings, you're able to look at it, and see exactly who is calling. But what about when someone knocks at your door? Well this phone will also tell you who's there. No, it's not going to give them the name of the person, but it will show you live video feed. What's more, you can activate a two-way speaker, if you want to tell them something.

Have you ever wondered if you've had visitors while you've been away? This phone also has you covered there. It takes a still image of everyone who comes to your door, and stores them in a log for you to look at later.

VTech's IS7100 Cordless Phone is a Video Camera Doorbell Too

July 02, 2013

Basically, this is way, way better than trying to deftly peek out the window without being spotted when you're trying to avoid a lengthy conversation about someone's faith or how amazing these knives are (they can cut through metal!). Now, you can know when to bunker down and pretend no one's home without going farther than the phone.

VTech Audio/Video Doorbell makes answering the door easy!

June 30, 2013

The VTech IS7121-2 Series will send a digital picture of who is at the door, so you never have to look to see before you answer. It is especially great for those unwanted solicitors who you had to answer the door before to, as you did not know who it was. It features streaming and still images right from the camera to your Vtech phone. The camera automatically snaps a photo and sends it to the handsets when visitors ring the doorbell. You are able to stream the video, audio, or both with two simply buttons.

It also features a log of video/photos on who came to your doorbell when you were gone. This is especially useful when you go on vacation and want to see who visited your house when you were gone. It is just like caller ID for your front porch! The level of security you will feel by purchasing the Vtech Audio/Video Doorbell is second to none! You can feel confident on answering the doorbell or not answering it, based on what you pick up from the camera, that submits the images to your phone.

Answer the Door Without Opening the Door

June 21, 2013

Several companies sell front door video intercom systems. Some require a dedicated cable from the front door camera/doorbell to a base station. The base station includes a video screen and handset or handsfree speakerphone. Others styles operate wirelessly between the camera and base station. I'm not a big fan of these systems because you can only answer the door and see the video from the base station. So you have to run to the base station every time someone rings your doorbell.

Thankfully there's a better option—a cordless phone system with wireless door video. The system, made by cordless phone manufacturer VTECH, includes a wireless video camera/doorbell unit and two cordless phones. When a visitor presses the doorbell, the cordless phones emit a chime tone to differentiate the door call from a phone call. The phone then displays a color snapshot of the visitor. You can talk to the visitor and view live video at the same time. If you're not home, the camera stores a still photo of the visitor so you can see who came to your door while you were away.

Screen Your Front Porch Visitors From The Convenience and Safety of Your locked Doors With the VTech Audio/Video Doorbell Phone System

June 16, 2013

When my husband isn't home and it's just me and the boys' I absolutely won't answer the door if I don't know who it is. Unfortunately, it's just not safe to do so anymore, but now with VTech's Audio/Video Doorbell that problem is solved.

Now when someone rings our doorbell we can instantly see who it is by simply looking at one of our cordless phone handsets. I LOVE that I don't even have to go to the door and let the visitor see me while trying to see who is here.

VTech Audio/Video Doorbell Cordless System Review

June 13, 2013

This Father's Day, give dad the gift of technology with this VTech audio/video doorbell cordless phone system! He will be amazed at how far we have evolved when it comes to our phone systems. You no longer have to spend an arm and a leg for security in your own home. This allows you to see who is at the door without even having to move from your couch. Long gone are the days of having peep holes on your door and nearly breaking your neck trying to see outside. This is truly a gift Dad and other family members will appreciate all year round, not just on Father's Day.

When we found out we would be able to review this phone system from VTech, I immediately knew it would be perfect for us. We live in a very wooded area so when visitors knock, I don't always feel safe, especially at night. I never really know who has popped up especially with the dog barking over the person at the door. Having this video cordless phone, I feel a lot more at ease being able to see whose there just by looking at my phone.

VTech: video doorbell cordless phone system Review

June 12, 2013

This is the best invention ever, VTech just made everyone's day with these phones. This video doorbell cordless phone system is awesome. Comes with everything you need to ignore those solicitors. I don't know about you, but I hate when people ring my doorbell or knock on my door. For me it requires, open and close baby gate, walk down stairs and up stairs. What a hassle for something you know you wont want, need, or care about. Also when your in your PJ's or just enjoying your morning or evening, you wont want to get up for something useless..I had my fair share of solicitors ignore me, and try their hardest to keep chatting, and then want into your house, to foam clean your carpets. These people would NOT leave and they just kept coming and coming, it was a quite annoying adventure.

Now with this handy phone. Comes with everything you need to make this process easy. Just place batteries into doorbell box, then hook it up to your doorbell. Hook up the phones, and when people come to your door to ring your doorbell, it will go right to your phone, picture, person, and you can chat right to them from your phone. They offer 2 phones with this box, so if your in your bedroom, or kitchen you will be able to answer this from any remote location. Also another great feature, gone at work? These people ring your doorbell, it will store up to 100 pictures per phone now that is neat I must say. I also love this camera feature, it will record any picture of anyone who pushes that button.

Priced competitively against other video doorbell solutions, the system includes two handsets that each have a 1.8 inch color LCD screen and DECT 6.0 technology.

But if I had had the video doorbell installed, I could have pressed VIEW to determine that I did not want to speak to them.
